Custom-made, Thermoformed Plastic Packaging Solutions for Food and Non-Food Industry


BACHMANN is a Swiss family company seated in Hochdorf near Lucerne. Today the 40-year-old BACHMANN Group comprises three specialized units which, as specialists for packing, display and luminous advertising, have devoted themselves completely to the service of products, brands and company presentations.

Quality

The company is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 as well as, since March 2004, the BRC/IOP hygiene standard. ``Quality all around`` is the motto that documents the high demand on company performance.

Hygiene

A thorough and meaningful realization of the regulations on hygiene is only possible if the food packaging used has also been produced and packed under hygienic conditions. This is why more and more food processors are demanding that their suppliers of packaging comply with the guidelines for hygiene in accordance with the British BRC/IOP standard.

BACHMANN has effectively optimized the standard of hygiene in recent years and documented this in March 2004 with a BRC/IOP certification from the SQS as the first Swiss thermoformer.

Environment

For BACHMANN the environment has high priority. We only use environmentally friendly types of plastic and make sure that resources are dealt with sensibly. Our recycling methods undergo ongoing optimization. Along with the internal recycling circuit we offer a concept for redeeming the wastes that arise (PS, PP). The materials thus retrieved are reprocessed and reused.

Moreover, we gain waste heat from the production process and use it for heating purposes.

Chocolate and Biscuit Packaging

Whether fine chocolates, candy bars, chocolate-covered marshmallows or biscuits, we will develop the optimal packaging to make your product the center of attention. Different material surfaces ranging from classic brown-matt to exclusive gold-metallic with hologram effect provide a wide range of design possibilities.

Meat, Fish and Poultry Packaging

We provide a broad spectrum of forms, colors and materials. MAP-trays can be delivered with color-coordinated absorption pads. Whether high-end materials like foamed polypropylene with integrated oxygen barrier, or simple polystyrene, we provide the exact packing solution to comply with your needs.

Cheese, Milk and Egg Packaging

Many product innovations are defined today through their packaging. Show us your product idea, we will assist you in developing the optimal packaging-sparks start to fly.
High-tech materials like re-closable sealing foils often provide the decisive added value.

Convenience Packaging

By means of innovative packaging design we are shaping the trend towards food to go for the new style of catering. As a full-service provider, we realize solutions with integrated cutlery and deliver pre-confectioned. For ready-to-cook dishes, the C-PET (up to 220 °C) and PP (up to 120 °C) we provide are solutions suitable for oven and microwave cooking.

MAP Trays and Container/Lid Solutions

Our product range offers a comprehensive selection of different shapes and materials. On request, MAP-trays can be supplied with absorbing pads in matching colours. We deliver a selection of container/lid solutions pre-confectioned with integrated cutlery (fork and spoon).

NON-FOOD PACKAGING

Cosmetic Packaging

We give your product the right presentation: With a flocked inlay in a presentation box, with sales trays on the counter or by means of handling-optimized packaging. Our repertoire ranges from classic flocked foil (satin, suede…) to trendy translucent or frost effects.

Pharmaceutical Packaging

Ampoule holders, transport trays for injection capsules, packaging trays for sales units and sealable protective packing can be produced by us under ``Laminar-Flow`` (clean room classification 100`000).

Technique

Transport trays, protective packing, coverings and sorting inlays are the crux of every automated logistical solution. Special machines process our plastics to a strength of 12 mm and can also provide subsequent 3D treatment with 5-axis milling robots.




Chocolate Packaging

Packaging Development

The close cooperation we create with our customers is the decisive factor for successful development of packaging. Following the life-cycle model, we analyze all of the processes that packing goes through and consequently define the requirement profile. With state-of-the-art CAD/CAM support, we construct the prototype forms. The pre-series is meant to validate the packing. These data flow directly into the production of the series tool.

Tooling Shop

Through the integration of CAD/CAM, the tool constructor takes over the data of the approved sample form directly for the multi-impression series tool. Tool construction manufactures in-house the thermoforming moulds, the punching dies forms as well as the stacking automats. Final acceptance ensures that the customer gets a package that is impeccably presentable, protective and can be easily handled.

Logistics

We work with the most modern warehousing technology and have built up a delivery system that makes no-delay service possible. The automated logistics systems for raw material feed and likewise for storing the finished goods help us meet the high demands of the BRC zone concept.

Polystyrene Recycling (Code: 6)

High-Impact polystyrene (designation SB, i.e. HI-PS) is a mixture of glass-clear standard polystyrene and Budatien rubber. The butadien components cloud the foil opaquely. Modification, however, makes the manufacture of glass-clear types possible (e.g. styrolux or K-resin). HI-PS possesses high individual stability but becomes brittle from UV radiation. The chemical resistance to oil/grease is low, and this holds likewise for gas and steam barriers. Many special materials (flocked, electrically conductive, frosted) are deliverable. To compensate for the poor barrier properties, multi-layered foils like PS-EVOH-PE are implemented.

PS can be used in a temperature range of - 40° C to + 70° C.
