The current product line of our Synthetic Polymers consists of raw materials such as vinyl acetate homopolymers, vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) copolymer emulsions, and formulated (ready to use) textile coating products. Of these, the Elvace VAE copolymer emulsions are the real `work horses`. Our Synthetic Polymers` business is one of only three domestic manufacturers of VAE emulsions and redispersible powders in North America.
Complimentary technologies
We realize that vinyl acetate homopolymer and vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer emulsions, while versatile and highly successful for many adhesive and construction applications, are not always the appropriate choice. We are therefore pleased to offer in the very near future other complimentary technologies to strengthen our current product lines. These will include some traditional acrylic homopolymer and copolymer technologies as well as some specialty styrene butadiene products. These products will be targeted initially for the construction products market and the pressure sensitive adhesive market.
Varied markets
The polymers produced by Forbo Adhesives` Synthetic Polymers business are used by formulators or compounders from a number of end use markets.
