Forbo Adhesives develops, produces and sells adhesives for floor and wall covering installation all over Europe. The wide product range contains not only floor and wall adhesives but also leveling compounds, primers, cleaning and maintenance products as well as lacquers.
In Europe, our products are sold under the brand names Eurocol® (Western Europe) and Forbo® (Germany and Eastern Europe). Within these market segments, we are market leader in the Netherlands and have dominant market positions in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria. To other European countries, we export our products. We deliver our products mainly through two channels, the installers in the flooring contract market and the wholesalers. Another important distribution channel is the Do-it-yourself Market.
In each country, we have a close contact with our customers, which results in a clear definition of the local market needs. These market needs are translated into product development and requests which are divided among our four laboratories in Europe. Once a new product is developed it is tested by several customers in order to meet the highest level of performance.
To sell needs-fulfilling products is not enough, technical advice and support is crucial as well. Each and every product is well documented to give our customers the best information possible. Upholstery
In this branch of industry, solvent-based adhesives have been used exclusively until recently. Since some of these products did no longer meet the higher requirements made on environmental compatibility, new technologies had to be found. An alternative are water-soluble adhesives containing only few or no solvents at all meaning that they are much more compatible with the environment.
